Alcatel has announced to released its first Android based smartphone OT-980 in UK. The OT-980 smartphone has 2.8-inch QVGA resistive touchscreen with 240×320 pixel resolution, 2 megapixel camera, Portrait-slider design with QWERTY keyboard etc. It runs on Android 2.1 operating system, but it is expected that it will also run on Android 2.2 operating system. The OT-980 also features WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, MicroSDHC card slot, and 70MB user memory.

The Alcatel OT-980 smartphone will be available from Carphone Warehouse at the price tag of £99.95 with contract and will be release in UK in October, 2010. It will be available in two colors i.e cherry red and silver colors.
