Gmail Voice and Video Chat Now Available on Linux


About 2 years ago, Google launched voice and video chat feature within Gmail, allowing many people to have live, face-to-face conversations with their friends. But unfortunately the Linux users had not get chance to use this features. But after a long time wait Google has announced voice and video chat for Linux. Now users can head over to gmail.com/videochat, to download the plug-in and start yakking away.

Hopefully Google doesn’t neglect the Linux community too often, especially since it took nearly two years for this feature to arrive but what ever, now the linux platform also supports voice and video chat feature.
NOTE: Gmail Voice and Video chat for Linux supports Ubuntu or other Debian based distributions only. and the RPM package is expected to come soon.
