Google Nexus One Discontinued

Image

When the Google Nexus One was announced, it was done so with high hopes but unfortunately, the Android phone was not able to deliver on these expectations. Sales of the Nexus One were quite slow with Apple selling almost 10 times for iPhones in the same period of time.
On Friday, July 16th, Google confirmed that the Nexus One will be discontinued and that the company has received it’s final order of handsets from the phone maker HTC. By no means does this mean that Android phones are going to be discontinued as well. In fact, the popularity of Android OS is only growing and estimates indicate that soon, it will surpass Apple’s iOS. This just means that Google is getting out of the hardware business for now. If you are interested in the Nexus One, Google has indicated that there are still a few markets where the handset will be offered and these include Europe (Vodafone), Korea (KT) and possibly a few other smaller markets, but who knows just how much longer they will be available in these locations.
Google has confirmed that customer support will still be offered for this handset, even after the Nexus One is no longer available.
